ICAO, IFAD, and CLT jointly organized a workshop in Thailand from November 27th to 29th, spanning three days. The workshop, which saw the participation of 46 individuals from 11 countries, centered around the theme of 'The Role of Agricultural Finance in Fostering Youth and Women Farmers and Cooperative Development.'

 

Commencing with a keynote address by an IFAD program specialist, the workshop featured presentations such as 'Financial Support for Rural Women for Gender Equality' by a SEWA consultant and 'Empowering Youth through Agricultural Finance' by an Injaro investment manager. Following the expert presentations, a Q&A session addressed participants' queries and provided diverse solutions to global challenges.




 

The following day, workshop attendees visited two cooperatives designated as outstanding by CLT. The first visit was to the Banrad Agricultural Cooperative, where participants learned about various successful business models, including the supply of agricultural and construction materials, fuel distribution, rice processing, seed supply, and wholesale market operations. Subsequently, they visited the Petchaburi Teacher's Credit Cooperative, gaining insights into various businesses such as lending and credit, while also experiencing local culture.








 

Expres​sing gratitude once again to all participating member institutions, it is hoped that the workshop has offered solutions to the challenges faced by many organizations.
