The congress was held to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the establishment of the ICA and the 25th anniversary of the declaration of cooperative identity, and it is the second time after Japan in 1992 that the event, a festival of 1 billion cooperatives around the world, has been held in non-Europe.
The event was attended online and offline by 2,000 people, including the Korean President, ICA Chairman Ariel Guarco, and representatives and officials of cooperatives around the world.
In this Congress, by re-examining the identity of the cooperative, the 21st century cooperative sought a way forward, and considered ways to incorporate the cooperative business model to solve the problems facing the world, such as COVID-19.
